Here at Foot District, we like to do things a little different – especially when it comes to major sneaker drops – and last weekend’s release of the hotly anticipated Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 was no exception.
SEEK-O MODE by Foot District: Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6
Inspired by Butterfly Effect’s recommendation to ‘drop the top’ and ‘play hide and seek’, we chose to turn La Flame’s lyrics into reality by launching one of the most rewarding real-life games of hide and seek that the cities of Barcelona and Madrid have ever seen.
In addition to our randomly selected in-store and online raffles, @footdistrict Instagram followers from Madrid and Barcelona were given the opportunity to fight back at the (all-too-often) cruel hands of fate and secure a pair of Scott’s latest Jordan Brand collaboration through a game of pure skill.
Miniature glow-in-the-dark replicas of the coveted AJ6 collab were sneakily hidden in a major park in each city, with pairs of the real deal up for grabs for anyone talented enough to track them down. Coordinates were distributed via Instagram Stories on the @footdistrict account, with the game commencing as soon as details were publicly posted. The clock instantly started ticking and it was up to Foot District’s Instagram followers to head to each location as fast as possible to ensure they didn’t miss out on the action.
Once participants arrived at each location, it was simply a matter of being the first to find one of the highly-limited miniatures and alerting FD staff members on-site. Just like the unique stash pocket found on the newest Cactus Jack collab, we made sure each miniature was well hidden, with participants needing to scout high and low to track every last one down – though thankfully each miniatures luminescent glow made the task just a little bit easier.
