FOOTDISTRICT and adidas accompany the artists in their new creative space.
A study, commonly perceived as a utilitarian and functional place, can become part of a work. Even of a life. This is how Sabek and Piro, two visual artists, have understood it as they open their new studio in Madrid. An environment conceived not only as a studio for creation and artistic experimentation, but also as a multidisciplinary space where all kinds of actions can take place, where art, ideas, and creative individuals have a meeting and action space.

The new space is located in Carabanchel, a neighbourhood that has recently become the epicentre of creation in Madrid, and was designed to be a place of creation and exhibition, as well as experimentation.
Sabek and Piro have a lot in common. Their styles might appear to be at odds, with Piro‘s sensory expressionism and Sabek‘s nature-inspired figurative forms. However, they both have similar but distant origins, employ colour as an additional tool, and now use it as a place where ideas evolve. We at FOOTDISTRICT are aware of this since Sabek is already well-known to us; he created the illustrations for a basketball backboard at The Mad Buzzer, the action that marked the beginning of our tenth anniversary.

This new environment opens up a world of possibilities in terms of creative and communicative proposals. FOOTDISTRICT and adidas wanted to accompany them in the first steps of this new journey, which was sealed by a reborn model, the adidas Originals SL 72. A sneaker that we hope will serve as a foundation for future projects, much like Sabek and Piro’s own studio.
