Spring/Summer 2025 brings one of the year’s most anticipated collaborations: adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria unveil a new collection born from their original encounter.
Split into two drops in May and July, the partnership reinterprets adidas’ sports heritage through the intimate and culturally rich lens of the Chicano designer. A visual narrative on community, heritage, and pride.

adidas Originals x Willy Chavarria: a new language
This latest collaboration blends Chavarria’s unmistakable style with adidas’ athletic legacy, merging sports silhouettes with an urban tailoring sensibility. The garments stand out for their clean lines and visual references to Chicano culture through typography and floral motifs. Key pieces include the Chicano Sweatshirt, Chavarria Polo, Wide Leg Track Pants, and Track Jacket — all balancing comfort, cultural heritage, and urban sophistication.

Footwear is led by a model made for a West Coast icon. The adidas archive is reimagined with the return of the Jabbar, originally created in 1978 for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, legendary center of the Los Angeles Lakers. Under Chavarria’s direction, styles like the Chavarria Jabbar Low and Chavarria Jabbar Dress pay homage to the basketball icon and align with a new generation seeking meaning in what they wear.
The collection is consistent in both aesthetic and intention: to bring to light an untold relationship between the Three Stripes and Chicano culture — through a lens that is both introspective and community-driven.

Community, Legacy, and Identity
Accompanying the collection is a visual campaign that captures the essence of South Central Los Angeles and pays tribute to values like family, love, and tradition.
As Chavarria himself states: “adidas has been part of Chicano culture for a long time, but that story has never been told. This collection lets me show it the way I lived — and still live — it”.

The new collection is an act of recognition: a global brand told from a local point of view — deeply emotional and unmistakably contemporary. The first drop of the collection will be available at FOOTDISTRICT starting May 8.
