What a week it’s been! Strong contender for ‘sneaker of the year’, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1, finally hit top-tier sneaker stockists on Saturday after months of teases and anticipation. Here at Foot District, we always like to go the extra mile for big releases – and this drop was destined to be no exception. So, we put on our thinking caps and got to work brainstorming how we could make the most of this very special occasion. Our answer: bring Astroworld to life in our new home of Barcelona!
Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1: The Launch
On the evening of the 11th, we took over the city’s Tibidabo Amusement Park – perched high up on the tallest mountain in the Serra de Collserola – to create our very own Astroworld, and invited a randomly chosen legion of Jordan heads and Travis Scott stans to attend for a chance to take home this year’s most coveted collaboration.
Once inside the park gates, attendees were directed to a mirror maze where they were tasked with navigating their way through the labyrinth to discover our signature slot machine, right at the end. Each attendee was given one pull on the machine, with those lucky enough to land the right combination securing a pair of the sought-after ‘Cactus Jack’ AJ1s.

Not all is as it seems in Astroworld, however! While not everyone was lucky enough to land the right combination, we had a big surprise planned for each attendee right from the start: every single one was a winner the moment they entered the park’s gates! Yep, you read that right, nobody went home empty-handed – we had a pair for each and every attendee!
The slot machine was only just the start of the night’s festivities and once attendees emerged from the house of mirrors they were treated to free drinks, classic fairground foods and live DJs to truly celebrate their win in style. The park’s illuminated rides, together with Barcelona’s city lights shining brightly down below, made the perfect backdrop for the lucky attendees to shoot off some truly tasty sneaker snaps to celebrate their newest acquisition (and no doubt make all their friends jealous in the process!). We also teamed up with @highsnobiety and @nssmagazine, who entrusted us with their Instagram accounts for the evening to share Barcelona’s Astroworld far and wide.

Don’t despair, though, this is only the beginning. As one of the year’s hottest releases, you can rest assured that this isn’t the last collaboration we’ll see between Jordan Brand and Scott, and that we’ll have plenty of more opportunities for you to win some La Flame-certified heaters in the future.
