Last Friday for the occasion of the release of the Slam Jam x Nike Blazer Class ’77, Foot District was invited by Nike to attend the presentation of the collaboration in Milan. It was a unique and exclusive event in which we were the only Spanish retailer invited.

The second collaboration between Slam Jam and the Nike Class ’77 was presented at a unique event at the Spazio Maiocchi in Milan, Italy. It was an exciting night of music and festivities, attended by various influencers and members of the streetwear fashion industry who wouldn’t dare miss the launch of this latest version of the iconic Nike shoe. Among the attendees, Foot District stood out as the only international retailer invited to the exclusive event. There we experienced the presentation of the Slam Jam x Nike Blazer Class ’77, a remastered silhouette that first launched earlier this year. This time, the Blazer Class ’77 flipped the colorway and went for a black upper with a white Swoosh to match the midsole.

The previous Slam Jam x Nike Blazer Class ’77 was initially released in a limited number of pairs with raffle-only access on the official Slam Jam website. In November, the store held a drop event in Los Angeles to present the gray and white model with the upside down Swoosh, an unmistakable trademark of the Slam Jam collab with Nike. This second black colorway release features an upper covered in premium leather that maintains all the details of the original model, with “1977” text on one heel next to “Class” on the other heel to pay tribute to the heritage of the model.

Nike’s collaboration with Slam Jam has managed to reinterpret an icon of 1970s underground culture, maintaining loyalty to its roots, but demonstrating the capacity for creative innovation in this fusion. The elegance and style of a DIY subculture is evident in its design and draws from the past of both the Italian Slam Jam store and the original Nike shoe.
