FOOTDISTRICT, through SEGUNDO ESPACIO —its platform for activating dialogue between disciplines— and adidas Originals, invite you to be part of a project that connects past, present, and future through music and through a silhouette that has followed that same path since 1969: the adidas Superstar.
The Project: The Sound of The Original
Three key moments in the evolution of the Superstar —its birth in the 70s, its street explosion in the 80s, and its leap into counterculture in the 90s— inspire a shared process of creation. Over the course of three chapters, The Sound of the Original will unfold as a living experience between music, memory, and reinterpretation. Through three bands —Delafé y Las Flores Azules, Mourn, and Carlota Flaneur—, three styles, and one same creative impulse, The Sound of the Original connects music, memory, and style to reveal the processes that transform the past into new forms of expression.
Chapter 1: The Threshold (May 29)
A public gathering at Segundo Espacio. We introduce the bands, explore their connection with each era, and open up the creative universe beyond sound. Conversations, references, and a starting point.
Chapter 2: The Creative Testimony
An immersion into each artist’s process. We follow the journey from first sketches to the aesthetic and sonic decisions that reimagine the Superstar through their own narrative.
Chapter 3: The Revelation
The culmination: an original musical creation, presented in a final gathering. A collective celebration where music takes center stage and the past resonates in the present.
Where and When?
This May 29, the first chapter of this shared exploration begins: an event open to the public where you’ll get to meet the bands —Delafé y Las Flores Azules, Mourn, and Carlota Flaneur— as well as designer Bea Nieto, who will lead the graphic design component. We’ll discover their references and delve into their creative universe in a conversation guided by Johann Wald, a key figure in understanding the impact of music and culture. Three artists, three styles, and one same impulse connecting music, memory, and style to reveal the processes that transform the past into new forms of expression.
Everything begins on May 29 at Segundo Espacio, a venue created by FOOTDISTRICT to activate creativity and dialogue across disciplines, collectives, and generations.
