The latest addition to FOOTDISTRICT hails from Italy and has become a cult brand in less than a decade. That is Sunnei.
Sunnei is Simone Rizzo and Loris Messina’s label
Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo do not consider themselves designers. Yes, they had some fashion and photography experience, but their education came from very different places. As a result, their approaches to creation differ. Sunnei has long been regarded as a creative incubator, with interpersonal relationships and the ability to tell stories as important as the brand itself.

Sunni takes up the Italian sartorial tradition of the 1960s and 1970s right from the name, a reference to a Stevie Wonder classic. However, Sunnei does not sacralize the past, it remains attentive to everything that happens in its time to turn its designs into timeless and contemporary creations.
The Sunnei product
Because Sunnei collaborates with local workshops, their product, which includes their own vision of almost any object, is distinguished by contrast, experimentation, and craftsmanship. They are looking for a consumer who is interested in the product rather than trends, so their garments will fit easily into any closet, even if they go beyond the essentials. Oversized silhouettes, vibrant colours, a sense of humour, and a disdain for traditional fashion. An aesthetic that allows the brand to evolve without having to reinvent itself every season.

The Sunnei collections
Each new Sunnei collection is conceived as an upgrade of the previous one, which explains the feeling that it is never completely new and never exactly the same. The shapes and volumes may be familiar, but their updated approach leads to products created with new techniques, details, prints, colors and fabrics.
The superfluous is, each season, identified and eliminated to refine the garments and find their essence, that which makes each piece a must-have for Sunnei.

Volumes ranging from close-fitting, expertly cut tops to voluminous shirts, sixties pop elements reimagined with the Sunnei touch, and knitwear in solid colors and fabrics that reveal the inside. Canvas with textured effects and a new take on denim, a Sunnei classic that alters its original structure thanks to the new coating.
Sunnei’s ideas and new garments are now available at FOOTDISTRICT.
