As New Orleans’ premier sneaker destination, Sneaker Politics always jump at the opportunity to pay tribute to their hometown through with collaborations and their latest effort is no exception. This time around they have served up a collab that truly captures the heart of N’awlins, by bringing local purveyors of fine coffee and pastries Café du Monde along for the ride.
This scrumptious looking Shadow 5000 honours Café du Monde’s staggering 157 year history in the city’s world-renowned French Quarter with a design inspired by their signature beignets. If there’s any question as to why these pastries deserve a collab, then you’ll just have to try one for yourself – after all, there’s a reason they manage to draw a queue of hungry customers, every day of the year!
The crispy caramel upper of these Shadow 5000s exquisitely melds layers of premium leather, nubuck and mesh to deliver an irresistible treat for your feet. For a perfect dusting of contrast, the Politics crew have paired the shoe’s brown hues with white and green accents, inspired by Café du Monde’s iconic shopfront – the icing on top of an already delectable release.
The Sneaker Politics x Café du Monde x Saucony Shadow 5000 is one of the best Saucony releases we’ve seen for quite some time. Hell, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say it is our favourite release from the brand all year! And, for that, we’ve decided to award this release the illustrious title of Sneaker of the Week.
