Hélas is one of the most demanded streetwear brands. The famous French brand of the umbrella has grown little by little until designing all types of garments. Now, is creating very potent collaborations and becoming one of the great references of skater fashion. Now, we welcome their Fall/Winter 2020 collection in Foot District.
It started out as a small cap Brand and ended up collaborating with adidas. Founded by the skater Lucas Puig, along with Clement Brunel and Stepehn Khu, Hélas is one of the big fortunate to enter the skatedeluxe. It all started when the three friends realized the scarcity of the five panel caps, versus the classic six panel structure caps. So they decided to fill the gap.
The name of the Brand, Hélas, which means «unfortunately», comes from the song ‘Toucher l’horizon’ by the artist Oxmo Puccino. The umbrella shape logo is a nod to the only accessory that you can use above your head. Together, the naming and logo form the perfect binomial for skaters. They makes reference to the irony that, when it rains and you use an umbrella, unfortunately you won’t be able to skate.
The aesthetics of the brand nurture from tennis, skateboarding and from the 80s and 90s years. Clean cuts, simple patterns and a relaxed style are some of the qualities that their collections share, season by season. It’s about pieces that exhibit a fun and juvenile touch. But at the same time, they show off a mature and careful confection. Lastly, quality is always present.
Hélas FW20
For the Fall/Winter 2020 season, Hélas proposes a collection where comfort and friendship shake hands in a campaign starring some of the brand’s friends in Paris, their city of origin. The collection FW20 gives off joy and comfort. It presents prints of small umbrellas all-over on some pieces that stand out over the more sober ones, with the logo embroidered in a more subtle size. We highlight the Poppins denim suit, patterned and modern, to match the bucket hat of the same name. Among the accessories we find beanies, socks and classic caps. The graphic T-shirts, the stripped looks or colorblock styles and the neutral and sober pieces, like the Moonlight Zipper jacket, complete the collection.
