The Saucony Progrid Omni 9 “Disrupt Pack”, a 2010 silhouette that has become a trend due to the resurgence of the Y2K style, features colors, materials, and textures that FOOTDISTRICT has recontextualized in a new editorial.
The running silhouettes of the early 2000s are undergoing a contemporary recontextualization, resulting in a product that can hardly be considered vintage, with technology that remains an advantage in everyday life. An aesthetic in which metallic tones and layering are regarded as essential, and which has revived models previously only seen on the feet of serious runners.
The materials of the Saucony Pro Grid 9 serve as the foundation for our new editorial, with colors explaining the various functionalities. A visual investigation into materials, components, and textures, as well as functionality and its elevation to a new sensory substrate.
The base color is black, with a layer of technical mesh that experimented with different dimensions and revealed the interior. It is also the color used in a gradual ornamental. The insole, made of recycled materials and black, also appears to be a rejection of style, a commitment to complete functionality.
Silver is the color of an era, the Y2K, in which the new millennium, which had just begun, invited us to consider a technologically advanced future, and which appeared in many of the original colors of the Saucony Progrid Omni 9.
