The Salomon XT-4, a shoe made for success in the mountains, makes a comeback to the urban setting.
Features of the Salomon XT-4
The Salomon XT-4 was developed to continue a story that began in the early 2000s and that the XT Wing had already set in motion. With each update, this nearly flawless family only required small adjustments. Any departure from the core principles of the XT saga could pose a challenge for ultras runners, who make up the majority of users. Salomon designed the XT-4 based on four key principles: fit, stability, reactive cushioning, and quick release.
- Sensifit™, a platform that runs from the sole to the laces, wraps around the foot to allow for a personalized fit.
- The midsole’s Agile ChassisTM Skeleton system, which consists of two compounds with varying densities to provide stability.
- EVA foam ensures cushioning that changes with the terrain.
- Quicklace™, the design created by Salomon for a quick, secure and distraction-free fit.

From the pathway to the streets
Salomon started to realise that the useful advantages of its products could extend beyond trail running as it carried on creating high-performance outdoor models. They were designed with function as the only consideration, yet even those who lived far from the mountains could appreciate their aesthetics. Components like Sensifit or Quicklace alluded to a revolutionary style that was novel. Collaborations with designer Boris Bidjan Saberi and The Broken Arm store were the first to recognise a change in context. Salomon’s technical advantages demonstrated its usefulness in a variety of areas.

The Salomon XT-4 OG is back
Following the overwhelming success of the XT-6, Salomon returns to its family tree and reintroduces the XT-4, a model from which it evolved and which shares elements and, of course, functionality. This reissue aims to be as close to the original sneaker as possible, which stood out in ultra-distance events and demonstrated its versatility in urban settings. The Agile Chassis™ Skeleton, Sensifit™ fit, and Quicklace™ closure, along with the tongue pocket, were designed to prevent snags during races and are now a symbol of the origins.

Salomon XT-4 OG Aurora Borealis
The Salomon XT-4 returns with original colors and striking gradients, as well as new ideas for stories in which the XT-4 can accompany you. The Salomon XT-4 OG Aurora Borealis explores light phenomena that can be seen in polar skies and the various interpretations they have received throughout history. The colours of the Aurora Borealis vary depending on the composition of the atmosphere and the height of the emission, resulting in different Salomon XT-4 versions in brown, green, and blue.
The Salomon XT-4 Aurora Borealis and other editions are now available from FOOTDISTRICT.
