At FOOTDISTRICT Barcelona, we embraced our nautical side to present the new Tommy Hilfiger Sailing Gear Capsule—a limited-edition collection that celebrates the brand’s 40-year legacy and its deep-rooted connection to the world of sailing.
Hosted by Paula Viana and joined by Carlos Peguer (who had already introduced us to the collection), we took a visual and emotional journey through the Tommy Hilfiger archives, rediscovering the maritime codes that inspired this new proposal: technical jackets, bold color-blocking, and graphic details drawn from nautical flags, pulleys, and ropes.
A harbor in the heart of Barcelona
For the launch, we transformed our store into an urban dock. Garments hung from maritime-style structures, displays resembled boats, and even the food evoked ocean-inspired flavors. The setting perfectly blended the sailor spirit of the collection with Tommy Hilfiger’s signature contemporary design.
Knot workshop and customization
Among displays and conversations on style, the knot-tying workshop became one of the event’s highlights. Guests, including VERIFIED users, learned different tying techniques and applied them to garment customization—adding a personal, hands-on touch that turned each piece into a unique experience.

Tommy Hilfiger’s connection to the sea runs deep, fueled by his passion for sailing. In fact, the brand’s iconic logo is based on the nautical alphabet, where a specific combination of flags forms an “H” when viewed from the side—standing for Thomas Jacob Hilfiger, the brand’s founder.
The Tommy Hilfiger Sailing Gear Capsule reimagines key pieces from the brand’s archives through a contemporary lens. Regatta jackets, classic polos, and striped tees are reinterpreted with modern cuts and technical fabrics that reflect both nautical heritage and American prep style—wrapped in a refined color palette and graphics inspired by maritime language.

The Sailing Capsule blends Tommy Hilfiger’s iconic sportswear DNA with a fresh take on sailing aesthetics. From the docks to the city, this collection offers a new kind of everyday uniform—one full of history, function, and character.
