Reebok Worldwide
The upcoming drops of the Reebok Daytona DMX and DMX Run 10 make up a pleasant reminder. Specifically, this release looks to make sure you haven’t forgotten why the brand is so well known on a global scale.
Each of these shoes represents a hallmark of Reebok’s runner design philosophy. The Daytona DMX is a bit of a no-brainer in the current climate of the footwear industry. Old school features, such as chunky builds and OG tooling, are all the rage at the moment. It makes more than a little sense to push this release out right now.
As for the DMX Run 10, it’s an equally obvious home run. The shoe’s build is something just in between the indisputable 90s and modern style. Though most of the details hark back to a bygone era, translucent soles make sure you’re at least partly in the present.
Reebok DMX System
Each of these sneakers comes equipped with Reebok’s own DMX system. This cushion was made famous in part when it was used on the NBA hardwood by the likes of Dee Brown and Yao Ming. Coming to us not long before Zigtech, DMX was Reebok’s elite offer to hoopers of all skill sets.
Here, it’s applied to the old school runner designs of these two drops. Some of the more notable aspects of the Daytona include OG panel work as well as a midfoot shank. The Run 10 comes equipped with the extra impact protection of a classic EVA midsole as well as a soft leather upper.
For some added retro appeal, the pull tabs on both of these models remind us of the easy-on-easy-off days before one-piece uppers. Throw some classic shades on these OG features, and you’ve got yourself a banger from Reebok’s archives.
Watch out for these oldies when they drop on July 6th to kick off your weekend right!
