Reebok Classic Nylon x P.E Nation
It’s hard not to get a little excited whenever Reebok makes their way back to our attention. The historic brand has made some splashy endorsement signings in recent days, but hasn’t really been as prolific as fans would have hoped.
Having lost the sponsorship services of key names such as Kendrick Lamar, we’ve yet to see very many big releases from Reebok. With all of that being said, this release is some very welcome news.
Reebok collaborates with an underrated brand, P.E. Nation, on two colorways of the iconic Nylon sneaker. The looks on these eloquently bring both brands’ styles together.
The Nylon is an interesting choice for this collab. The shoe has the sleekness and distinctive design qualities most associated with Reebok. At the same time, its form is also conducive to the wildest color combinations. Here, that serves the collaboration quite well.
The folks over at P.E. Nation has been trying to bridge a somewhat subtle gap between sportswear and streetwear. That approach has led to some of the more functionally progressive designs in the industry. Part of their aesthetic is a slew of bold, classic color combinations. The Nylon takes this on beautifully.
The real variation on these shoes is on the base color. Each is a flip on the other, a Black pair versus a White one. The detailing is exactly the same on each one, sporting a combination of Red and Blue.
This scheme of color details is a good bit of nostalgia for those of us who were rocking tracksuits and Kangol hats in the 90s. You might notice that in many parts of the world – from NYC to London – the tracksuit is alive and well. Thanks to a return of this classic aesthetic, this collab is well timed.
It’s about as boisterous as a color scheme can be, representing a time when fashion was still a bit experimental when it came to color palette. Yet, you won’t struggle to line your outfit up with these gems.
Available now, snatch these up before they flashback to the 90s where they came from!
