The future is here with the Puma RS-350 Re-Invention
Puma has been on a tear lately. The age-old brand has been crushing the game with their big-name endorsement signings, riding a pop culture wave back to a surprising level of relevance in the footwear industry.
They’ve also been working on bringing back some of the gems from the brand’s past, including this Puma RS-350 Re-Invention.
Originally an elite runner design from the 1980s, the RS-350 features prominently this year as a big part of the brand’s retail push in 2018. This colorway represents just one of the many iterations we’re set to see in the coming months.
The RS-0 series was Puma’s very advanced answer to an increasingly sophisticated market of runners. In the 80s, footwear brands noticed they couldn’t get away with basic uppers and passable cushioning anymore.
As a result, there was a major push to innovate. This is why, if you’ve noticed, a good chunk of the most iconic runners in history original debuted back in the 80s.
Puma Elite
The Puma RS-0 line was more than a technological marvel, though. It represented an elite option in terms of its wearability and dynamic style. In their glory days, models such as the RS-350 took on just about any colorway and made it a standard.
Here, we see the model featured in a Re-Invention color scheme. Neutral hues of Grey, Black, and White are matched up with the slight contrast of a Green cap.
The result is a well-executed vintage runner that should claim more than its fair share of popularity.
Though its visual versatility and comfort are key here, the RS-350 is a strategic home run for Puma as well. With the traction it’s currently gaining, this feels like a relative peak for the brand, making it a great time to dive back into the archives.
Cop these bad boys while they’re still being slept on!
