Jordan Brand is really tugging at purse strings nowadays. After dropping some serious heat in the form of “Pure Money” and “Platinum” J’s, the AJ 5 returns here in its “Red Suede” look. No, it’s not quite the Raging Bull pair that stands as one of the best 5’s of all time. But, it’s pretty darn close.
This isn’t the brand’s first effort at messing with premium materials. The Air Jordan 5 flips the script a little by replacing its usual leather upper with some smooth suede. That base material helps the Red scheme come alive, giving some depth to the accompanying stitch details. As an interesting contrast, the sneaker is finished off with a Chrome tongue and Icy Blue translucent outsole.
For some of us, this sneaker may just be another reminder that we missed out on the Raging Bull release. But, for others, it’s a pretty close second. Available at our Jordan section.
