For a limited time, Outer Shelf expanded its possibilities with Orchard VERIFIED, an ephemeral setting that introduced new offerings—a green (and blue) oasis amid the virtual asphalt
Outer Shelf was the virtual environment FOOTDISTRICT created to amplify real-world possibilities. For a limited period, it established a new scene called Orchard VERIFIED, accessible from Plaça Reial and easily recognized by its lush vegetation. In this now-closed space, you could complete challenges to earn your VERIFIED badge, which granted you priority access to launches, events, and promotions.
What is FOOTDISTRICT VERIFIED
At FOOTDISTRICT, we strive for fair and equal access to our products, which is why we implemented VERIFIED, a one-of-a-kind system that ensures that each release reaches actual users. VERIFIED users get access to raffles, special promotions, and much more.
The Orchard VERIFIED space
The arches and greenery that distinguish the Orchard VERIFIED space was design connect it to the past of FOOTDISTRICT and Barcelona. The Plaza Real and the FOOTDISTRICT Barcelona store both feature arches, which are essential elements of both (yes, they are in the Outer Shelf logo too). From these arches we have created a cube that closes with a groin vault, a timeless architectural element that stands out in Barcelona’s Gothic quarter.
In this living space, vegetation and shapes evolve and transform in the same way that real-world cities do, though the virtual context will allow us to push the boundaries of our imagination. Orchard VERIFIED was meant to be a dynamic environment that can change at any time.

The flowers of Orchard VERIFIED guided us to another characteristic of Barcelona’s urban landscape: the “panot de flor”, a kind of tile that has come to symbolise the city and is shrouded in mystery, much like so many other local legends. What some perceive as a rose, others associate with the flower of the almond tree—a reference to the Amatller surname, which means “almond” in Catalan—because some associate it with the interior design of the modernist Casa Amatllier.
The “panot de flor” also inspired the blue flower you were tasked with finding in Orchard VERIFIED. It was a creation derived from virtual-world grids that mirrors the floral shapes found underfoot in Barcelona.
