Nike Pegasus is all about heritage
The Pegasus has a very important place in the history of Nike. The Swoosh’s dominance started long ago, before there was even the idea of the iconic logo. It all kicks off as the effort to fundamentally change how athletes on the track gear up for races.
Specifically, Nike’s founding principle was to enhance the shoes the athletes wore and to maximize their energy and training efforts. Founder Phil Knight was particularly passionate about this being a lifelong fan of track and field athletics.
His favorite sneaker is the Pegasus, originally released back in 1983. Now, we see the classic model return in yet another special version.

Additionally, securing your foot is a toggle lacing system, making the shoe easy to both get on and keep on. The weather-ready profile here involves the use of special lining that helps keep your feet protected from moisture.
The synthetic overlays on the upper also add to the sneaker’s durability and weather resistance.
The Nike Pegasus is Knight’s favorite for a very good reason. Though it’s an oldie from ’83, the shoe maintains its brilliance by evolving gradually while firmly holding on to its core principles.
This is a simple design that aims to improve running stride by stride. Thanks to a fuss-free build, it’s relatively easy to keep upgrading the frame of this design without ever altering its fundamental construction.
