Nike Air Safari: three decades of radness
First introduced back in 1987, the Nike Air Safari is back. The silhouette gets a brand new retro version now with a total premium leather feel. As (almost always) in any essential Nike shoe, the Air Safari was created by designer Tinker Hatfield.
Looking back, more than 30 years later, the Air revolution followed several paths and reshaped in several ways. The Air Max segment gained a life of its own, and Hatfield basically became one of the most respected footwear designers in the world.
Two different versions celebrating the Air Safari
The ‘new’ Air Safari is available in two versions. One with the classic safari print and orange leather upper with synthetic leather Swoosh and the second one with a black and anthracite upper with safari print.
The shoe’s construction is like a better sum of all things made to guarantee comfort. The perforations seen both on the tongue and on the end section of the laces are there to improve overall breathability.
Also included is a foam sole with encapsulated Nike Air cushioning that adds in even more snug feel. There is also a reworked rubber waffle outsole for additional traction and even more durability.
Make sure to grab your own part of history. The Nike Air Safari is now available both at our Nike store and in store.
