Maybe it’s the huge ‘AIR’ logo on the side panel, or perhaps is just the bulky and robust construction, fact is the Nike Air More Uptempo is not (fortunately for us) your “regular” kind of kicks.
The Air More Uptempo was originally released back in 1996. Designed by Wilson Smith, the silhouette was disruptive to the point of breaking away from Nike’s aesthetic tendency at the time. The label’s branding on their models (mostly due to the Air Jordan segment), was really low-key, with the Jumpman brand taking over the show. In comes the Uptempo with a large ‘Air’ depiction on the side, a real celebration of Nike as a brand and as an all sports behemoth. When Scottie Pippen started donning the shoe, history was in the making.
This latest ‘Light Bone’ version of the Uptempo is all about greatness. A premium leather upper, perforation details throughout, and the persona we all know about. In the past, now and in the future, the Nike Air More Uptempo is here.
