Colorways for all: Nike Air Force 1
If you ever want to know the value of playful design, take a look at the Nike Air Force 1 Jester. The Air Force 1’s history is not exactly secret. Nike has not held themselves back from celebrating the old school hoops shoe’s background. It’s one of the trendsetters of a certain “Golden Era” of basketball, both on and off the court.
The AF1 is also a bit of a tracing pattern for a ton of the basketball sneakers that would come after it. Equally as interesting as its performance background is the AF1’s influence on the streets and fashion. The shoe is a ubiquitous piece of footwear design that sneakerheads at any level can get into.
The Jester edition is perhaps the most ambitious attempt at rethinking the shoe’s familiar design. Part of the “Re-imagined” initiative from Nike, the AF1 Jester was part of a larger pack of unique designs on iconic Nike models. Unsurprisingly, this particular look involving the Air Force 1 just happened to stick.
Here, we see it debut in a series of distinct colorways, each taking their own approach to helping this boisterous aesthetic express itself. First up are two iterations in basic White hues. One comes with a Royal accent and the other with Black. Each of those sees these extra details via the tilted and repositioned lateral Swooshes.
Then, we have an Off White shade that makes for a tonal colorway, sticking closer to the shoe’s original motif. Last but not least, a more somber edition. A Black-on-Black colorway wraps things up to give us a darker tonal option on this Women’s sneaker.
Along with the unique styling, each shoe also comes with beautiful leather base uppers that show some impressive texture. Thankfully, there’s also no change to the unmistakable silhouette of the AF1. Keep your eyes open as these colorways drop throughout.
