Moving on with the Nike ACG Dog Mountain & Ruckel Ridge
Two memorable pieces of utilitarian design, the Nike ACG Dog Mountain & Ruckel Ridge couldn’t have arrived at a better time. The Fall season, offering most of us a preview into the frigid temperatures in the months ahead, is officially here. For quite a few of you, this will mean some variation of chilling winds, rainfall, and the transportation issues that come with it all.
Fortunately, the ACG line makes it so that your footwear can actually work to protect you from these oncoming hazards. After all, that is the central premise of the All Conditions Gear branch of Nike.
The Dog Mountain model could very well be the most wearable design from ACG. Let’s face it, functional design hardly ever sells itself anymore. This is where the Dog Mountain silhouette has a bit of an advantage. Seen here in Triple Black, it’s a streamlined design that isn’t quite as aggressive or bulky as others in this category.
This particular colorway also comes with a splash of contrast via the Red rope laces. A mix of Black and Teal come together on the outsole to add even more intrigue to the otherwise somber aesthetic. The Dog Mountain is as approachable as any sneaker that ACG has to offer. And yet there’s no lack in the features, bringing a soft and suede upper with a hard-wearing outsole.
The Ruckel Ridge approaches practical footwear in much the same way, seen here in a Fall-ready Tan look. The upper is in a water-repellant and durable nubuck, wrapping around a woven tongue that results in a sock-like feel. The outsole’s pattern and build take inspiration from bike tires and sits underneath an injected foam midsole.
Each of these models is the perfect entry point into the remarkable designs of ACG’s footwear catalog. Stay tuned for more news on these as they drop well into the Fall season.
