The new addition to FOOTDISTRICT‘s brand roster introduces us to a new universe where coffee and style blend with the Franco-Japanese references of Maison Kitsuné.

When Gildas Loaëc (former manager of Daft Punk) and architect Masaya Kuroki founded Maison Kitsuné in 2002, they dreamed of a universe that would combine music, fashion, and a style halfway between Japan and France. Eleven years later, they opened their first Café Kitsuné in Aoyama (Tokyo) and discovered that coffee could be the perfect common thread for that creative universe: a simple drink turned into an aesthetic, sonic, and sensory ritual.

From that small minimalist spot in Tokyo, enclaves have sprung up that are now part of contemporary cultural cartography. Today you can order a flat white in Paris, a cortado in Brooklyn, or a matcha latte in Seoul. London, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Dubai complete the list. Each cafe breathes the same identity—light wood, discreet marble, playlists curated by Kitsuné Musique—but dialogues with its neighborhood: local ingredients, guest illustrators, pop-ups with emerging artists.

Design to go
That atmosphere is so photogenic that the community asked to take it home. Thus was born a lifestyle line that today includes white stoneware mugs, tote bags with embroidered foxes, bicolour sweatshirts, dad caps, bamboo coasters, and sweatshirts. Each item maintains the Maison Kitsuné philosophy: quality, clean design, and a logo that blends the French fox with Japanese calligraphy. The result is an everyday souvenir that transcends the cafe and turns the coffee break into a style statement.

A brand that sounds
Music remains the fourth pillar. From French Disco compilations to Japanese house sessions, Kitsuné Musique nurtures the atmosphere of each venue and reinforces the Paris-Tokyo cultural bridge. Many customers discover independent artists between sips; others buy exclusive vinyls at the bar. The message is clear: drinking coffee, listening, dressing, and sharing are part of the same creative act.
