Here, we see two very big names in American design and quality materials come together on a recognizable NB model. The resulting piece of footwear is one that combines both aesthetics without muting either one.
The 997 is a standard-bearer for New Balance. Spearheading the brand’s ‘Made in USA’ and ‘Made in UK’ efforts, the emphasis has always been on superior quality. For Woolrich’s part, the brand’s story is about American-made wears made from high quality materials. We see that philosophy on this latest 997 release. Woolrich’s signature high grade wool adorns both the tongue and forefoot vamp. This provides a touch of insulated heat and texture.
Added details include sections of premium suede sitting on a mesh base. Of course, we also see the 997’s original ENCAP shock absorption system as cushion. Technically sound as it may be, this models’ emphasis is on a pride in American manufacturing and design.
