Following up on their collaboration on the NB 990 V6, Action Bronson is back with the Boston brand for the 1906R, a model that draws inspiration from the 2000s’ aesthetic.
Action Bronson, a Queens native, has created a universe of allusions based on his background as an Albanian, Jewish, and Muslim, his time spent working as a chef in the family restaurant, basketball, and, of course, his obsession with sneakers. Baklava is already a distinctive mark that he incorporates into his designs and uses in his partnerships. It’s the first thing you’ll see on the box of this limited edition New Balance 1906R “Medusa Azul”.
The model that was selected, the 1906R, was previously involved in an Action Bronson partnership in a different shade (Rosewater), but this time it adheres to the guidelines indicated in its 990 V6 Lapis Lazuli. Comfort is the cornerstone of the 1906R, as racers recognised in 2009 when it was first released. Redesigned with a new midsole, the 1906RON manages to blend comfort and fashion.
The ABZORB SBS in the heel, reflective accents, N-rgy outsole, wide open mesh, and original model’s reflective elements are all present in this New Balance 1906R Action Bronson “Medusa Azul”. Action Bronson builds on that foundation with an amazing color scheme and thoughtful material selection.
