In 1994, Japanese designer Shinsuke Takizawa established NEIGHBORHOOD as a means to celebrate his love of motorcycles and its related countercultures. For 25 years, this passion has remained at the core of every product released under the NEIGHBORHOOD name, resulting in one of the most consistent streetwear brands in the game. Takizawa has delivered plenty of commendable collaborations along the way and this weekend, he adds two more to the brand’s extensive history by reuniting with Converse for a double drop of moto-themed footwear.

Converse x NEIGHBORHOOD
Following up on NEIGHBORHOOD’s 2017 Converse collaboration, Takizawa has revisited his modified Chuck 70 redesign with an even sleeker, blacker makeover. The new Chuck 70 features an all-black premium leather and canvas upper, with matching rubberised accents and metal hardware. Takizawa’s forefoot rubber gear shift strap, which serves as both a practical and stylistic addition, returns with a sprinkling of white text for added detail. Underfoot you’ll find bright blue outsoles, delivering an unexpected pop of colour that contrasts perfectly with the dark-clad uppers.
In addition to revisiting the Chuck 70, Takizawa has also used this opportunity to take the Jack Purcell out for a spin for the very first time. NEIGHBORHOOD’s version of the classic low-top features all-black premium suede uppers equipped with leather heel patches embroidered with the kanji for ‘resistance’. The black uppers are complemented by equally black midsoles trimmed with white edges and decorated with NEIGHBORHOOD’s signature type. Like the Chuck 70, the Jack Purcell also features coloured outsoles, this time tinted pink.
