Nike and FOOTDISTRICT brought action and creativity to Madrid with an event where sports, music, and performing arts collided to create new forms of cultural interaction. Eight hours of pure experimentation that connected the community through action.
Redefining Experience
Experimentation as a driving force for new possibilities. With this philosophy, MAD POWERED BY 8 was born—an event inspired by the innovation of the Nike Air Max Dn8, the latest interpretation of Air Max technology featuring eight pressurized air chambers for an unprecedented sense of movement. A design concept that transcended the technical to become a starting point for collective creativity.
The event took place at Radio Relativa, an underground radio station in Madrid, and was divided into two acts: guided experimentation and collective celebration. In the first part, three key figures from the national scene led workshops across football, music, and dance:
- Urban Football Lab by Rio Dulce Club: Participants designed their own football, expressing their connection to music through symbols and melodies.
- Music Experimentation by Mercabae: A sound lab where participants explored different musical genres, creating a collective beat based on an eight-beat structure.
- From Concept to Action by Candela Capitán: A space where the choreographer guided attendees in creating an artistic piece exploring body representation, social critique, and the relationship with technology.
A Celebration of Creativity
In its second act, MAD POWERED BY 8 transformed into a space for free expression, where music and interaction took center stage. With a DJ set by Zsongo and a live showcase by El Bugg, the night became a celebration of creativity in its purest form.
More than just an event, MAD POWERED BY 8 embodied the philosophy behind the Nike Air Max Dn8: to experiment, explore, and connect through action and experience. A FOOTDISTRICT and Nike initiative that goes beyond the product, aiming to create meaningful connections through experimentation.
