As part of Air Max Day celebration at ScrapWorld, FOOTDISTRICT presented its own vision of the future of communication in which garments, users and brands relate to each other in a completely different way.
Visitors to our booth at ScrapWorld, the reference event for streetwear and urban culture in Spain, were able to explore from the inside an Air Max unit full of surprises in virtual reality.

The experience, designed exclusively by FOOTDISTRICT, offered a new, never-before-seen perspective of the sneakers launched during Air Max Day, the Air Max 1 86 “Big Bubble”. The installation is an evolution of Outer Shelf, a FOOTDISTRICT creative proposal in which users can explore different virtual spaces, a world under construction by and for the FOOTDISTRICT community. All those who could not attend ScrapWorld can enjoy the Big Bubble experience on Outer Shelf app.

This year ScrapWorld was reinvented as an amusement park, and over 150 sneaker and streetwear enthusiasts quickly sold out the available slots to participate in the virtual games that gave access to giveaways and prizes at the FOOTDISTRICT booth. An Air Max 1 ’86 Big Bubble became the centerpiece of our particular merry-go-round and the most Instagrammable location of the event.
On Sunday the 26th, Air Max Day, the quickest could get their hands on an Air Max 1 ’86 that was destined to sell out in minutes, fresh out from our Bubble Van.

In addition, FOOTDISTRICT joined Caritas in a donation campaign to offer a new life to used sneakers and in which we collected used pairs to get them to those who need them most.
It was also the premiere of the FOOTDISTRICT merch collection, keychains, pins, skates and disposable cameras inspired by our legacy and future, now available online.
