The adidas New York, a timeless Original, isn’t revered as much as it should. But, it does encompass a lot of what the brand had gotten so right back in the 80s and 90s. The aesthetic is taken one step further by Daniel Arsham as he applies his vision to one of a bygone era’s true classics.
Arsham, a contemporary artist, is also a man who has a deep interest in fossilized objects. Much of his work depicts an almost porcelain look, which he applies to this edition of the New York. This retro runner is draped in a canvas build on the upper, accompanied by frayed edges. Notable details include a printing of “The Past is Present” which is revealed under UV light.
