Caterpillar turns 100, a century in which it has cemented a legacy of feats in the construction field that have had an impact on the connection between people.
To celebrate this anniversary, Caterpillar’s footwear division, Cat Footwear, is launching three limited-edition boots that commemorate three of the brand’s great achievements: the Golden Gate Bridge, the moon landing, and the Channel Tunnel.

Over the last century, Caterpillar has shaped the world as we know it, creating buildings, structures, and tunnels that unite people, nations, and even the earth and the moon. Technologically advanced creations that have proven that nothing is impossible. Among them, the Golden Gate Bridge, which at the time of its creation in 1937 was the tallest and longest suspension bridge, and which time has turned into a symbol of San Francisco. In 1969, Caterpillar developed 10 generators that enabled the connection with Apollo 11, the spacecraft that reached the Moon, one of the greatest milestones in human history. In 1994, Caterpillar completed another of its projects, the connection of France and the United Kingdom through the largest undersea tunnel ever built, 50 km that facilitates the transit of 20 million people each year.
Three great feats that Cat uses as inspiration for its special collection to celebrate its centenary.

Golden Gate Bridge Boot: Engineering in Motion
The Golden Gate Bridge Boot translates the bridge’s architecture into a language of materials. Its structure incorporates an oversized “cage” and a cable system that evoke the taut lines of the iconic Californian colossus. The mesh areas and micro-perforations promote foot ventilation as if air were crossing a metal framework, while the hardware and details in golden tones are a nod to the name that has made this work legendary. A commemorative woven patch places the piece in history, and a hangtag celebrates the centenary, attesting to the link between engineering and culture.

Apollo 11 Boot: The Pulse of Exploration
The Apollo 11 Boot looks to the Moon to offer comfort and lightness. The padded upper, with a “puffy” finish, is secured by a Velcro strap and a quick elastic lacing system that fastens the fit effortlessly. The extremely lightweight midsole takes references from the equipment of lunar explorers, but without adding weight; the brushed and dusty color refers to the first footprints on the regolith. As in the entire collection, a commemorative patch honors human achievement and the centenary tag accompanies a boot designed to turn curiosity into a firm step.

Channel Tunnel Boot: Light Under the Sea
The Channel Tunnel Boot condenses the strength of a tunnel excavated 75 meters deep into an everyday silhouette. The black zippered exterior acts as a waterproof shell, while the inner boot, with a speed lace and touches of color, alludes to the luminous trails perceived inside the “Chunnel.” A functional headlight on the front and lights on the sole reproduce the sensation of trains crossing the darkness, and the stacked yellow sole brings back the characteristic color of Cat machinery. The commemorative patch and the centenary tag seal a piece that turns infrastructure into design.

Three models that recover the essence of the first 100 years of Caterpillar and serve as inspiration for the next 100. Building the world since 1925.
