Pigalle and Nike are old friends. But, inevitably, each new union between them puts the entire streetwear scene on alert. Now, their latest collaboration has come to light to reinterpret the classics with a clear focus on the aesthetics, essence and spirit of street basketball.

With his brand Pigalle, Parisian Stéphane Ashpool pays tribute to his native neighborhood with designs that unite urban aesthetics and haute couture codes. The pieces are inspired by different subcultures united by music and sports, giving rise to garments characterized by comfortable patterns and vibes of pure energy and color. This season, the brand has once again joined forces with Nike to reinterpret the brand’s classics with their distinctive style and create new, unprecedented designs.

Converse‘s pop icon Chuck 70 has been the shoe of choice for Pigalle’s version. The Converse x Pigalle Chuck 70 OX, with a low profile and all the details typical of the original model, are impregnated with bright and luminous tones giving rise to two different colorways. In both, the canvas upper is covered with a funded film, configuring a new dimension in the legendary silhouette. The midsole is tinted in a phosphorescent but soft yellow, contoured with a multi-coloured foxing tape that adds dynamism and broadens the colour spectrum. The storm print on the upper stands out, completing an excellent design.
Multi/Black-Egret colorway elevates your look with an electric shock of degraded colors covering the silhouette. With lighter shades, the White/Vast Grey-Barrely Volt has a similar pattern at the top, but in a monochrome version. It features the phrase “The power of music to move the world” on the heel plate. Together they complete a sneaker collaboration that confirms the unbeatable power that comes from the union between sport and art.

On the other hand, Pigalle’s capsule in collaboration with NikeLab is a limited edition of clothing that blurs the boundaries between the artistic and the athletic styles. Their designs are inspired by the outfits of basketball players, with high performance materials and a bold look. In this collection, the slogan “The power of sport to move the world” reaffirms Ashpool’s principles. Among the proposal, pieces like the NikeLab x Pigalle Y Teraway jacket and trouser tracksuit set stand out, a total-look that plays with traditional suit patterns.

The collaboration campaign has made it clear that the creative spirit of both brands goes far beyond simple sports functionality. Pigalle’s initiative has consisted of intervening in different basketball courts in various parts of the world, bringing energetic brushstrokes of colour to what previously seemed dark and sombre.
