For 35 years, the signature of Tunisian designer Jean Touitou is characterised by escaping from trends, creating collections full of basic and timeless garments, using the highest quality materials. Now, A.P.C. arrives at FOOTDISTRICT coinciding with our 10th anniversary.
Don’t get attention. But get it
Born in the tumultuous Parisians 80’s, the idea of its founder was to create a community that shared his vision of fashion. By labelling his first garments simply with HIVER 1987, he managed to draw attention to a brand that, a couple of years later, would be called A.P.C.

This acronym by Atelier de Production et Création was not just a brand, but a refuge for those who were looking for elegant and timeless garments with a quality well above the average of the ready-to-wear and fast fashion.
Elegance and timelessness are linked to minimalism to get attention in a world full of strides and for those who, paraphrasing Jean Touitou himself on the 35th anniversary of the firm, “do not need a huge wardrobe to play well”.
Sustainability above all else
The minimalism of the brand reaches the point of using untreated materials. This is a formula to ensure that fashion is responsible and sustainable, not only by reducing the consumption of raw materials, but also as a commitment to a circular economy impulsing initiatives to collect worn pieces.
As an example of this commitment, A.P.C. collects denim pieces already used for its process and puts them back on sale with that characteristic worn aspect that denim garments achieve over time. This creates a circular process in which these unique pieces acquire a new life and receive the treatment they deserve.
Interactions
All this has turned A.P.C. as one of the references in street fashion. So much so that to start their collaborations program (Interactions, as they call them), they chose Kid Cudi, Suzanne Koller and Brain Dead.
These associations have allowed the French firm to collaborate also with brands such as Carhartt WIP or legends such as Catherine Deneuve in a collection that takes its inspiration from classic French actress roles, such as the Belle de Jour blouse or the Le Sauvage skirt.
As a result of these Interactions comes their collaboration with ASICS. Based on the chunky aesthetics of the GEL-SONOMA’s 15-50, the two brands show their commitment to finding the perfect product and passion for technology. This leads to an impeccable product, both technically and in streetwear.

A.P.C. is now available at FOOTDISTRICT. Discover this brand full of perfect pieces for any occasion.
