Air Jordan 5 now even more premium
Jordan Brand has put a sincere focus on the Air Jordan 5 for 2017. In the summer alone, we saw the rollout of one of the most hotly pursued tonal schemes in the sneaker community. Though it was a normally busy year of release after release, the Jumpman dedicated this year to the AJ 5. With that being said, there was an interesting caveat. Previously, when the brand had spent a year on a model, we would see some interesting but relatively average priced iterations. With the Air Jordan 5, we saw the company go in a different direction, opting for high-end colorways. Rounding off the luxurious run is the Air Jordan 5 Bordeaux.
Similar to the builds of previous premium releases, Jordan Brand pulled out all of the stops for this AJ 5’s build. The upper’s wine-colored hue looks lush on the high-quality leathers. The whole shoe is dipped in this tonal scheme. The only real exception here is the inner lining, boasting a quilted design and a tan color. The look is smoothly finished off with an outsole that is part wine and part ice.
Until now, the mere mention of the Bordeaux color scheme brought only the Air Jordan 7 to mind. This association came good reason, considering the colorway is one of the most memorable drops in recent memory. But, the difference here is that the Air Jordan 5 sports a very noticeably luxurious look. Following the releases of Platinum and Suede iterations, this Bordeaux look for the Air Jordan 5 is a great way to wrap up a huge year for the legendary Jumpman retro. You couldn’t be blamed for splurging a bit and deciding to cop these, the color scheme strikes a rare balance of expressive and subtle.
Don’t sleep on this premium Air Jordan 5 Bordeaux!
