Going global with the Air Jordan 12 “International Flight”
The Air Jordan 12 “International Flight“ brings back the Jumpman’s flair for globally themed packs. For the most part, the most we’ve seen from the brand in this style comes to us via the Air Jordan 10. The City Pack is still moving units on resells and it’s no wonder why. The thematic flexibility comes from the variety of city-specific visuals.
It’s the same sort of approach we see from this latest look on the Air Jordan 12. The Jordan brand has a reputation that spans the globe and it has helped spread both the game of basketball and sneaker culture.
Michael Jordan himself was such an astronomically huge name in both the sport and footwear worlds that the farthest regions of the world knew him. Now, it’s worth noting that Japan is no stranger to the sneaker game.
Still, this Air Jordan 12 is a great way to commemorate the brand’s connection with the country. The upper on this Air Jordan 12 is coated in a premium layering of suede. In addition to all of the stitch detailing, this shoe also comes with an Obsidian hue on top of which sit special graphics.
This flower print is the most evident thematic element until we look at the shoe’s heel. There, a Japanese horizontal script works nicely with the shoe’s usual Jumpman branding placement.
The mudguard is in a white hue and comes with a snakeskin print. The contrast here is in color and material, serving as a great one-two visual punch.
This iteration is also appropriate when you consider that the Air Jordan 12 was largely inspired by the rising sun on the Japanese flag. It comes together fluidly and makes for a gem of an aesthetic.
