Ici c’est Paris! Air Jordan 1 Retro High PSG
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High PSG is a welcome sight in a year that hasn’t changed much for this model. As with previous years, Jordan Brand is doing its level best to release just about as many versions of this historic model as possible. With so many general release colorways being available, we get a bitter-sweet situation on our hands.
First and foremost, it’s always a good thing for the sneaker community when a shoe like this gets a wider release slate. However, the quality can often be fairly questionable.
Having said all of this, this PSG rendition of the classic model may well prove to be a cut above the rest. The PSG association in and of itself is enough to inspire some serious spending – as this was the case with the brand’s earlier release with the French club.
But, the shoe itself isn’t exactly without merit. Structurally, there’s a flip on the Air Jordan 1’s usual build. Instead of the textured leather, the base material here is a versatile canvas. The leather is still here, though, opting to appear via the lateral Swoosh branding in this case.
The visual hits seem to be reminiscent of the aforementioned collaborative release, the highlight of which was the Air Jordan 5 PSG. Much like that model, this Air Jordan 1 sports the team’s logo “ICI CEST PARIS” on the insole. This translates to English as “This is Paris.”
Air Jordan 1 heads aren’t always very receptive to the retro model returning with too much change. But, Jordan Brand is likely hoping that an influx of different looks and builds will help bring this shoe to a more modern standard. To that end, associating with PSG can only help.
Available now, you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss out!
