The original is back: adidas Ultra Boost OG
The adidas Ultra Boost OG returns in all of its streetwear and running glory. This rendition is sure to bring about some feverish hype. After all, the Ultra Boost debuted to a sneaker community that couldn’t get enough of it.
Boost tech had been around for a little while before this shoe officially released. Back then, Boost cushioning was little more than an ambitious experiment. Put together by an exterior materials specialist, the fluffy super-foam was distinctive but largely unheralded.
Even Nike reportedly found themselves underwhelmed by it. That’s right, the Swoosh had a chance at securing this tech. They decided to go without it in the end. It would be a fateful decision for the Three Stripes brand. They’d spend years figuring out how best to utilize it. Specifically, their focus was on running footwear. This was going to change the game.
However, even the folks over at Research and Development for adidas couldn’t see this coming. The Ultra Boost debuted as an advanced performer but spread wider. The sneaker community couldn’t get enough of its futuristic look, the Primeknit upper and the sharp silhouette. Of course, we also couldn’t take our eyes off that chunky layering of Boost.
This shoe first dropped in a colorway that most fans will remember. This OG look returns before year’s end, offering up another chance to spend that holiday money! The Core Black base is joined by Purple accents. Specifically, that splash of Purple is on the synthetic heel counter. We also see Gold lettering on that section with the “Ultra Boost” print.
Continental rubber outsoles round off this look. It brings together a notable combination of form and function. The Ultra Boost is a technological marvel that has captured both the attention and imagination of a struggling performance market.
What’s more, it’ll be getting colorway after colorway for years to come. Available now, check out this OG scheme at our store today!
