There is no doubt that the adidas Tubular is one of the big projects of the german brand. This model, of which the first edition was released back in 1993, was reissued again in 2014 with one idea in mind: to maintain the innovative esthetic of the original model, while adding new technologies and adapting the silhouette to current trends.
From then on, adidas has surprised us with different variations of this new classic, like adidas Tubular Runner W models for women with striking prints or the adidas Tubular Moc Runner, with a esthetic that reminds us of the classic moccasin.
On this occasion, adidas goes a step further and dares to add a very basketball feel: we talk about the adidas Tubular X.

This new esthetics taken from basketball sneakers comes, more precisely, from another classic of the brand of the three stripes: the legendary adidas Forum. Some of the new elements taken from this model are plain to see: firstly, the sneakers cut is higher than that of the original model, a usual feature of basketball sneakers.
Another detail that came from the adidas Forum are the sidewall rims on the Tubular sole.

If we take a closer look at the upper of the adidas Tubular X, we see new features that can’t be found on other Tubular models. Probably the first thing to draw the eye is the lateral midfoot cross in the shape of an X, and that gives its name to the model. This insertions are made of synthetic suede with a relief pattern.

The rest of the upper is composed by different pieces that surround the foot and that are made of circular-knit, a type of knit that results in a very original grainy texture.

As to the colourway on these adidas Tubular X, we find a classic combination: black upper on an white Tubular sole.
