The adidas Nite Jogger Boost is here
The adidas Nite Jogger Core Black is set to debut yet another return from the brand’s archives. It’s become a potent strategy to revisit the hits from the past and add some modern touches. When you’ve got a list of classics like adidas, it’s not hard to see why.
The Nite Jogger first debuted back in 1976. This was a bit of a crucial time for running sneaker design. Major brands, including adidas, were re-thinking the runners category and looking for ways to innovate. The Nite Jogger served as a potential catch-all answer.
Here, in its most updated form, that ethos hasn’t gone anywhere. The Nite Jogger returns this month with minor tweaks. First and foremost, the midsole has been amplified. Fortunately for Three Stripes fans, it’s more Boost. Though it’s a softer and more fashion-friendly option, the functional inspiration is respected. The energy return on Boost midsoles is one of the main draws for avid runners, after all.
The rest of this shoe largely stays true to the original. Ripstop nylon comes together with mesh to form the base of the upper. It’s also overlaid with sections of plush suede, an ode to the popular design convention at the time. An OrthoLite sockliner adds even more emphasis on how the shoe feels.
Speaking of which, it runs true to size so order your usual fit. The return of the Nite Jogger is hopefully more than a blip on the brand’s radar. They’ve got a considerable following that loves the retro adidas models. As such, it would be nice to see more of their archive make its way to 2019.
In the meantime, modest upgrades to models such as the Nite Jogger will have to suffice. Debuting in a Core Black for its return, you can cop this shoe once it drops on January 11th, 2019. Don’t sleep!
