It seems like adidas has pretty much figured out the chemical formula for sneaker heat. It’s basic, really: take a sharp silhouette, layer on some cozy materials, and sit all of that on a hefty bed of BOOST. Frankly, it’s hard to imagine a time when this strategy doesn’t produce a sell-out release. The Iniki Runner is the latest in this effort, and an impressive one at that.
A two-way stretch mesh upper is layered on with some buttery suede accents, seemingly styled after classics like the New York and Haven models. Not only do you get that trademark BOOST midsole, but an Ortho-Lite sockliner adds to the snug feel and fit.
The shoe’s aesthetic speaks for itself. In keeping with adidas’s latest design philosophy, we see yet another Three Stripes runner that serves as a versatile fashion finisher. Whether it’s about to be a long commute to work or you’re thinking of putting together an eye-catching ensemble, this is a worthy choice.
If that’s not enough, the sneaker’s name is pretty interesting in and of itself. “Iniki” can be translated to “sharp, piercing gales, like a hurricane.” But, it can also mean to rip or punch. Don’t sleep on these. Check it out now at our adidas store.
