Welcome adidas ATRIC
The Three Stripes brand just keeps on keepin’ on. adidas doesn’t seem like a brand that is anything close to slowing down anytime soon. For their latest inspired offering, we get a look at the adidas ATRIC collection.
Going through a Spring/ Summer seasonal debut, this release is a bit of a twist on the usual wears for the season. Yet, it still maintains the sort of informed and considerate design that adidas has been known for. The highlight of the collection is likely the F/22 PK model.
The central ethos of this collection is on the concept of durability. adidas designers really emphasized hard-wearing designs that could take a figurative beating for years to come.
This approach, exemplified by aspects such as water-resistant tech, is a bit different from the heatwave appropriate drops we’re used to seeing from brands around this time of the year.
Nonetheless, the quality looks consistently stellar. For its part, the F/22 PK sneaker does a pretty good job of highlighting the durability profile of this collection while maintaining a Spring/ Summer aesthetic.
The ATRIC interpretation of adidas design staples is, to say the very least, interesting. Despite the “PK” monicker, the upper on this shoe sports a new material that combines Primeknit with Merino wool.
This construction is the brainchild of adidas and Swedish brand Woolmark. The material combination represents the central theme of this collection, boasting water-resistant properties and a hard-wearing profile.
Much of this collection, including the shoe, comes from a vintage background. The ATRIC Lite Jacket might be the most obvious example of this design direction, but each piece contributes to this vision in its own way.
