The new adidas release, adidas Aruku, continues the legacy of the most successful running saga, Adizero, while adapting its style to new contexts.
adidas Aruku, from Adizero to the trends
For 20 years, adizero has been the adidas line designed to break the mythical marathon distance time and time again. That was the inspiration behind its creation, the adizero PR, and it remains so with the new Evo PRO, two decades later, when technology has resulted in a radical change in design. Its ability to regenerate itself has made the Adizero line an unexpected ally of Wales Bonner or Y-3, with appearances that are far removed from their original function. Wales Bonner not only took inspiration from Ethiopian marathon runners for his SS24 collection, he also used athletes Tamirat Tola and Yomif Kejelcha in his campaigns. Equally unexpected was Ecuador’s Brian Daniel Pintado’s gold in the 20km walk at Paris 2024, wearing a Y-3 Takumi Sen 10.

adidas Aruku, a new proposal
The new adidas Adizero Aruku, a lifestyle proposal that employs high performance stylistic codes, is inspired by the credibility of the Adizero saga and the most recent trends, which have adopted running as a new style.

It uses oversized midsoles adapted from performance and establishes in its name a new proposal of use, Aruku in Japanese means walking, as a return to the place where the Adizero saga made its first impact.

Ballistic open mesh in one piece, TPU pieces inspired by the first Adizero PR, a new midsole compound, Swirlfoam, lightweight, soft and nitrogen infused, sculpted to improve motion control and with a textured finish. On the outsole, different panels with different roughness and colors maintain precise grip at the lowest possible weight.

Infusing the trending higher midsole heights and shapes into the lifestyle footwear proposition. The combination of tecnology and adidas DNA makes the model the perfect solution for everyday life, with details that take us from records to the Japanese walking culture.

The new adidas Aruku (as well as its predecessors, Adizero PR) coming soon at FOOTDISTRICT.
