In the latest Foot District campaign, photographer Javier Ruiz captures dancers from the WOSAP dance school in a tribute to the 50 years of the adidas Superstar.

The music and art communities have always been part of the history and DNA of the adidas Superstar. With a 50-year history, the sneaker model has established an entire culture built on a spirit of creativity and passion for sneakers. At Foot District, we pay tribute to one of the most iconic sneakers in history with a campaign immortalized by the lens of Javier Ruiz, the photographer commissioned to capture the best artists on the Spanish urban scene, including C. Tangana and Bad Gyal.

Together with the artist, we joined forces with the WOSAP dance school, a dance academy located in the iconic Lavapiés district of Madrid and which is committed to reclaiming and expanding the influences of urban dance. There is no better context for adidas Superstar. The characteristic look of the silhouette blends naturally into the universe of young people expressing themselves through dance. adidas Superstar’s ability to integrate itself in the diversity of movements and cultures throughout its half-century of history has established it as a timeless classic. The silhouette formed a whole stylistic movement with its arrival on the hip-hop scene in the 1980s. ⠀

Five dancers who perfectly embody the essence and style of the adidas Superstar are the stars of this photoshoot. Once again, at Foot District, we wanted to bring our personal imaginations to life in the sneaker world. Javier Ruiz has managed to make the history and heritage of the adidas Superstar shine in every movement of the dancers, creating an amazing atmosphere of street sophistication and vintage vibes. A celebration of his background with a series of artistic expressions that convey the spirit of a cultural icon.

The adidas Superstar is now available in different colorways for men and for women in Foot District.
