The adidas NMD_S1<\/a> marks the comeback of the most successful silhouette of the last few years.  A sneaker full of technology that adapts to urban spaces and which has served as inspiration for three unique works of art that we have shared with family and friends of FOOTDISTRICT.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"NMD_S1\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Acoplar capas, desacoplar trayectos<\/strong> is an ephemeral exhibition curated by Ferran Pla, also known as Fer\u00e9stec. Thus, this multimedia artist from Barcelona has helped us to create a space in which the German brand\u2019s silhouette has received special care and attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guillermo Santom\u00e0, Cristina Spinelli and Ana Mart\u00ednez Fern\u00e1ndez were the three artists chosen to reinterpreted this very special sneaker through three pieces that overlap, attach and detach, thus generating open narratives and stories in which to find a middle ground between algorithmic thinking and the emotional.<\/span><\/p>\n

With <\/span>Fish Spa, Guillermo Santom\u00e0 seeks to materialize an idea in transformation, in movement<\/strong>. Taking ichthyotherapy as a starting point and inspiration -a natural exfoliation technique that uses Garra rufa fish to generate a state of comfort and at the same time a situation with comic overtones, typical of late capitalism-, <\/span>Santom\u00e0 has created a pedicure chair, referring to the triangular silhouette of the new adidas NMD_S1 and its chromatic range<\/strong>. This way, the artist takes advantage of the futuristic aspect of the <\/span>silhouette to subvert preconceived ideas about comfort, rest and (self) care in urban environments<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\"Fish<\/p>\n

fflloorr is Cristina Spinelli\u2019s work, and consists of a sculpture built from the texture of concrete and the material of the adidas NMD_S1 sole<\/strong>. Inspired by the structures of commercial display totems and multiplying their surfaces, the artist has generated a series of fragmented planes with which to reflect on the ambiguity between the physical and the digital from the sedimentation of materials. A sort of stratigraphy that from an inverse gesture raises the ground, revealing unprecedented perspectives where our physical and mental routes are blurred, producing a density of layers and surfaces that offer paths to other parallel virtual spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"fflloorr<\/p>\n

Lastly, the textile and its behavior go hand in hand in what is one of the recurring themes -and obsessions- in Ana Mart\u00ednez Fern\u00e1ndez’s work. In Give up the ghost, the artist explores the fabric of the new adidas NMD_S1 and the brand’s products<\/strong>. A creation in which, from molds of sleeves and legs of the iconic adidas tracksuits, superpositions of resin pieces are created in a way that, together, manage to approach the ghostly and spectral, finding tenderness in their suspension as an attempt to materialize intimacy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Give<\/p>\n

The presentation took place at La Nave de La Mosca, in Madrid. There, 185 members of the FOOTDISTRICT community could admire the installations, share a good time talking about the silhouette and letting themselves go with the beats by the selector and uprising star from Madrid <\/span>Soffmm<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
