When Peter Moore and Robert Strasser conceived the first adidas EQT collection 30 years ago, they were designing much more than a line of sneakers and sports equipment. In fact, it was more such a journey to the essence of the brand in which functionality got over the superfluous. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It was the early 90s when adidas entered a moment of impasse<\/strong>. After the 80s, it seemed that the three-stripes brand<\/a> had strayed from the path set by its founder, Adi Dassler, in 1949: to make top-quality items for athletes and sneakers designed always putting their function before any other superficial or unnecessary element. <\/span><\/p>\n

So when Peter Moore and Robert Strasser <\/strong>were hired by adidas, they set out to dive into the company’s archives to find the very essence of the German house. The result? The first EQT collection<\/strong>: a line of sneakers and sportswear that marked the rebirth of adidas thanks to this return to its roots. Moore and Strasser had found the key that would allow adidas to return to its rightful place. <\/span><\/p>\n

The return of the legend: adidas EQT 30th Anniversary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everything that is essential. Nothing that is not<\/strong>. This is the claim that has accompanied every product in the Equipment line ever since. Garments and sneakers made exclusively with function in mind. Equipment designed to perform rather than to look fancy or cool<\/strong>. A way of working that has made both the EQT line and adidas a benchmark in design and performance. <\/span><\/p>\n

Today, 30 years later, the original adidas EQT designs see the light again as a capsule collection, including 3 iconic silhouettes<\/strong> – the Running Support 93<\/em><\/a>, the CSG 91<\/em><\/a> and the Race Walk<\/em><\/a>-, a never-before-seen model<\/a> and exclusive clothing items<\/strong> where green predominates, combined with a palette of gray, white and black tones that reaffirm minimalism and simplicity as the highest ideals to achieve. <\/span><\/p>\n

FOOTDISTRICT and adidas Consortium celebrate 30 years of EQT<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the occasion of its recent incorporation into the adidas Consortium family<\/strong>, and regarding the launch of the collection commemorating 30 years of adidas EQT, last Thursday November 4, FOOTDISTRICT organized an exclusive event at the Mies Van Der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona<\/strong> which was attended by some of the most influential figures of the European sneaker scene as Kish Kash, Ilaria Grande or Hanna Hels\u00f8<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

A night in which the main protagonist was the pavilion itself, an icon of modern architecture and the utmost representative of the minimalism that Equipment also boasts. In fact, the choice of this space was no coincidence, as it is the place where the video presentation of FOOTDISTRICT as a member of Consortium was filmed, and where the EQT philosophy permeated everything. A very special evening because of the significance of a union that only strengthens the relationship between the two brands.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n
