The so-called terracewear is now more alive than you might expect.

For years, soccer t-shirts with streetstyle outfits have been stigmatized, reduced to the limits of a social circle that was pointed out as “the thugs of the 80s” and now, with the return of the retro and the revaluation of the neighborhood, they are living a second life. The second-hand shops are selling out the clothes of brands linked to football uniforms such as Umbro, Kappa is reborn and adidas continues to be strong as ever with a more notable DNA. Trefoil teamed up with designer Gosha Rubchinskiy to launch a line of street soccer jerseys on the eve of the World Cup in Russia, and Inter Milan sophisticated their jersey with a gold reflective details, a representation of Italian luxury echoed by fashion magazine editorials such as NSS Magazine. In Foot District we also joined this revolution, launching a limited edition football t-shirt in collaboration with Kappa.

But it’s not just the football t-shirts that have caught on. The clothing worn in the stands boasts a historical heritage that dates back to the 1970s and 1980s in England and which has now, in the 21st century, returned to the urban landscape on a global scale. In fact, the emphasis of this comeback is precisely on the less athletic side of the football, on the groups that cheer on the matches and not on those who sweat on the pitch. And in this game, adidas and Stone Island have played the role of captain hand in hand.

Terracewear was born in the stands thanks to European brands such as Stone Island, Lacoste, Ellesse, Sergio Tacchini and adidas, which were responsible for dressing a whole movement whose members called themselves casuals. This is certainly a fact that is better known by the residents of the United Kingdom, where this whole imaginary was born and consolidated. English football has seen its fans become pioneers of a stylistic movement that would eventually spread worldwide. Following in their footsteps, Stone Island has reached the wardrobes of figures from the world of music who embody “the new casual” such as Drake, Spike Lee, Travis Scott or Zayn Malik. Although its musical origins come from two or three decades ago, from British rock and britpop groups such as Oasis or Happy Mondays. A couple of years ago, a viral tweet by Liam Gallagher reinforced the union between both worlds, in which the singer asked in bad tone words for the return of his Stone Island parka – that was stolen in a hotel in Glastonbury.

The truth is that not many brands have covered such different universes without losing their identifying heritage as Stone Island has done, which is now rap but also pop, music but also football, vintage but also modern, sober but fresh, London but Italy. Although if there is something Stone Island deserves our applause for, it is for having been able to evade a social punishment with which the whole world subjected it years ago, associating it not only with aesthetics, but also with the vandalism, racism and criminality of the hooligan groups of the UK, who curiously began to dress these firms with a more classical appearance in order to go unnoticed by the police. The brand has managed to become independent of this problematic situation without breaking its marriage to the football fans. So has the Three Stripes.

On feet we always see adidas. The adidas shoes are a sine qua non for terracewear. The German brand has created adidas Spezial, a complete line that takes a look back at its origins, with retro silhouettes, patterns typical of sportswear from decades ago and a terrace essence that is omnipresent throughout this imaginary. For almost 70 years, models like adidas Samba have been filling football stadiums, starting with the pitch and then moving on to the stands. The adidas SL 80 or adidas Handball have also been sneakers loved by the casuals and subcultures of football, becoming timeless silhouettes whose legacy is a promise that we will never stop seeing them on the streets. Such is their immortality that the trefoil brand is still working to fulfill the aesthetic needs of these groups, updating the trend with the launch of sneakers like the adidas Kamanda or adidas Sobakov. A real ode to football.

Before the David Beckham of the 2000s marked a turning point in the relationship between fashion and football, and before dyed hair or fancy kistch became inevitably associated with millionaire

[60,63

4,7,5,6,8
0":"post-6660","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-news","8":"category-noticias
["GET
