The model – which is, without question, one of most lauded in all of Three Stripes history – brought together the brand’s latest footwear innovations with a focus on sleek simplicity, giving birth to a shoe that was as comfortable on the feet as it was easy on the eyes. Add to this some stellar star endorsement right from the get-go, including from a certain Mr. West, and it’s easy to see why the UltraBOOST was widely regarded as the shoe of the year for 2015. As time passed by, adidas gradually began to tweak the original UltraBOOST design, including the addition of hard-wearing Continental Rubber outsoles, before retiring the original design in place of a version 2.0 alternative that heavily altered the knitted upper of the OG. While the 2.0 was a fine design – and so too was the 3.0 that followed it – it can’t be overstated how truly beloved the original 1.0 incarnation truly was.

Fortunately for us, after years of waiting, adidas finally answered our prayers late in 2018 with the return of the UltraBOOST in it most-praised 1.0 form… and better still, thanks to Undefeated, we now have a tidy new collaboration to add to our collections. The West Coast streetwear purveyors’ latest collab stays true to the model’s minimalistic ethos, but adds just the right amount of creative flair. It features snow-white knit uppers, complemented with frosty cages and heel supports. Channeling some homeland pride, the Undefeated crew salute the Stars & Stripes with hits of red and blue throughout, including their signature strike-through logo that comes mismatched on the left and right shoes. The Star-Spangled Banner itself adorns the heels for added patriotism. A perfect release to celebrate this year’s 4th of July, wherever you may be.

The adidas Performance x Undefeated UltraBOOST is available right now through Foot District.
