Jerry Lorenzo has closed out his 2018 with a bang. His work with Nike has been memorable.

This year’s collection with Nike has been Lorenzo’s take on simplicity. He puts together a large debut. The collaboration was highlighted by footwear pieces. This Skylon 2 is a bright example. The shoe returned earlier this year in interesting colorways.

The Skylon 2 had always been a bit of an expressive design. The colors were often brash and eye-popping. However, this latest rendition turns all of that down for a second. The main shade on each of these iterations is tonal.

The Black edition sports a leather and mesh upper. This combination is reminiscent of the shoe’s glory days. The mesh base offers a stretch and breathability profile. Meanwhile, overlays of leather give off a touch of material quality. The Black colorway also comes with a Gum sole for more pops of nostalgia.

The next iteration in this release is the White/ Bone/ Sail version. It brings another sense of tonal subtlety. The combination is simple without taking away visual depth. Again, the material combination expresses every shade smoothly. As an added bonus, each edition of this shoe comes with reflective 3M detailing as well.

The Air Skylon is a product of early 90s design. In fact, it carried much of what as accepted in the 80s as well. The mesh and leather are practical and stylish. The colors were brash.

While Lorenzo’s brand tones down the hues, the functionality of the shoe is maintained. It also stays true to Fear of God’s muted motifs. Available now, you’ll want to cop these before the resellers do!

Envisioning classics: Fear of God x Nike Air Skylon 2 A classic Swoosh model gets re-imagined via the Fear of God x Nike Air Skylon 2.
