The Air Jordan 33 Future of Flight<\/strong> is more than just one of the shoe’s colorways. It is, in fact, the likely beginning of something new and fascinating for Jordan Brand<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Air Jordan 33<\/strong><\/a> itself is worth exploring a bit. The latest from the brand’s flagship performer line, this model follows along the same line of thinking as some of its predecessors. Much like with the 31 and 32, this shoe looks to bring back some familiar visual design notes from retro models in the brand’s past.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Air Jordan 33 is a visual shoutout to the Air Jordan 3<\/a><\/strong>, albeit in a more subtle execution. But, the aesthetics are just the start here.<\/p>\n

Whereas the look is familiar, the functional elements are new and fascinating. The highlight here is going to be Jordan brand’s laceless FastFit system. The concept of a lace-less shoe isn’t quite new. Nike has been experimenting with lace-free basketball sneakers since the LeBron Soldier 10.<\/p>\n

Having said that, this looks to be the best execution of this design yet. Two strapping mechanisms allow for maximum fit customization. One runs along the ankle in a diagonal path. The other helps to tighten or loosen the midfoot and vamp areas.<\/p>\n

The actual fit properties here are remarkable for their speed – it’s a lot easier to make small adjustments to loosen your sneakers on time-outs than it is to unlace everything. But, Jordan Brand is also pitching this detail as a health-conscious one.<\/p>\n

During time-outs, players often wait with their sneakers still tightly wrapping their feet. This restricts blood-flow and contributes to many of the foot problems that pro basketball players can suffer. The FastFit system<\/a> allows for quick and easy adjustment – tighten them up when playing, loosen them a bit when you’re sitting for a time-out.
