Nike x Skepta Air Max Deluxe<\/h2>\n

The latest from a pretty spectacular collaboration, the Nike x Skepta Air Max Deluxe<\/strong> is looking to keep the momentum. Both the Tottenham rapper and the Swoosh have been positively adding to the sneaker scene since their first get-together last year. Skepta has chosen to keep his sights set on Nike’s line of Air Max models, which is no coincidence.<\/p>\n

While the whole brand is a London favorite, Air Max runners<\/strong><\/a> are a fixture of sneaker and streetwear culture in the U.K. Continuing on that, the grime MC makes his next big sneaker move by focusing in on the Air Max Deluxe. This year, the Deluxe has been getting some well-deserved attention after what felt like years of underrating.<\/p>\n

There are some design decisions here that are very indicative of Skepta’s approach on previous releases<\/a>. First of all, let’s consider the overall color scheme on this shoe. The Air Max Deluxe takes on quite the darkened aesthetic here. It just gets more intriguing from there. The upper’s base is in a digitally printed nylon that carries a distinctive graphic. This visual is a reference to the reflective clothing and footwear worn by club goers across the continent.<\/p>\n

Also on the upper is a printed timestamp that reportedly notes the exact moment when Skepta’s now legendary track “That’s Not Me” was originally dropped. The Deluxe’s unusual design is used quite well here, highlighted by the use of the shoe\u2019s abstract lines to give this silhouette a distorted feel.<\/p>\n

Outside of an iridescent heel panel, the only real pop of color on this release is via an aggressive shade of Red in the full-length Air bubble.<\/p>\n
