The Puma x Roland RS-0<\/strong> and RS-100<\/strong> are prime examples of the sort of run that the footwear brand has been on lately. Thanks in some part to the current revival of retro runners – chunky and otherwise – Puma<\/strong> has been bringing back its own heat. The main target of this effort has been the RS line of runners.<\/p>\n

Not long ago, we saw Puma take on collaboration projects with the likes of Polaroid and Sega<\/a>. Each of those drops has shown some vivid imagination when it comes to the color scheme and material choice. There’s no retreating from that approach here with their latest project.<\/p>\n

Puma looks to celebrate Roland, a name that is widely recognized by music producers and beat-makers from around the world. The Japanese purveyor of electronic music instruments has seen its offerings propelled within the culture. One of the items that hold a particular value is the TR-808 machine.<\/p>\n

That machine is also what is at the center of this collaborative release. The RS-100 is decked out in quite the scheme, mixing reflective linings with cuts of suede in Orange and Yellow. The upper is also capped at both the heel and toe area by sections of pebble leather in Red and White, respectively. Other interesting features include rip-stop nylon sitting underneath the premium overlays.<\/p>\n

The RS-0 is a beast of a shoe as well. Its premium leather upper is dressed in a tonal Black scheme, with the form-stripe being the main splash of color here. That’s where we see the Roland branding Roland\u2019s familiar hues. Panels along the lateral sides feature in White while the shoe’s overall look is finished with a translucent Gum outsole.<\/p>\n

Each of these runners comes with an iteration of the “Rhythm Composer TR-808 \/ Computer Controlled” script and other branding notes throughout. The light\/ dark contrasting nature of this release gives it an especially wide appeal.<\/p>\n
